Developer’s Log: Entry 13

Full Sail GDNB Capstone: Team Balerion – Game: GravityWorks

Team Accomplishments:

This week Team Balerion continued to fine-tune their existing systems by soliciting as many play tests as possible to uncover any bugs that currently exist. In addition to finding, and fixing, several bugs we had a discussion about level progression specifically in regards to the IPM methodology (Introduce, Practice, Master). After this discussion it was decided that we needed to cut an entire level, and splice its segments (and other level's segments) out and in to each other - resulting in a much smoother experience for the player.

Individual Contributions:

In addition to the regularly scheduled weekly tasks I complete -

which include:

  • Play testing the latest build as a Developer and recording bugs found

  • Soliciting others to play test the latest build and encouraging them to fill out the playtester form

  • addressing a plethora of bugs

  • preparing the weekly build with my teammate Joe

  • revising supporting documentation for the build

I worked on splicing a segment of KL in between the pre-existing first and second segments of DW, and two segments from JS in between the pre-existing third and fourth segments of JA.

Concerns:

I personally don't have any huge concerns at this time. I feel as though the team is doing a great job of preparing ourselves to implement art & audio next month - looking at the game objectively and making the right calls to cut or fix certain issues.
